sander. Maple dowel
(1/4 inch) for beak
glued in.
 
The beak roughly shaped, the
body roughly shaped, underside
of wings cut out.

Make Your Own Redpoll  
 If you do not have the equipment to
 form the carving, you can purchase
 a partially carved bird. A carving such as
 the one shown in the large center
 photo can bepurchased for $80,
 which includes 4 mm eyes.
 (Shipping is extra, but is
 usually under $10 )
 It does not require  legs/feet
 since it is designed to be roosting/resting.
